  • Air hammers/chisels

The POS I bought at Northern Tool makes a great hand massager but not much else. Which one do I need to make metal conform to my will?

    Air hammers/chisels

This is pretty much the same thing I brought to your place when Brian & I swapped out the ft axle out of your old YJ.

Mine is just a Ingersol Rand brand is all.
2000 TJ, 4.0, NV4500, Atlas 4.3, 06 Super Duty Diffs, D60/Sterling, ARBs, 5.38, 40” stickies, Weld on beadlocks, PSC full hydro steering, Vanco hydroboost, 16” King coilovers & King bumps, a radio that makes noise & a working Winch.

      Thanks Al.

I was curious so to Google I went. Some info on the differences between air hammers and air rivet guns. http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb...vet-gun-86400/

Another link of some possible value

I think my body saw isn't getting enough flow. :/

I use my rivet gun for many uses.

          Knock bolts out.
          Loosen screws, like Torx.
          Remove dent in wheel.
Remove plasma slag & metal when removing brackets on diffs & frame.
          Break concrete up.

A co-worker has that one and it has worked well for him since 1990.
My IR was probably built in the 60s.

Michael, don't know the type of work, but I have a large roto-hammer that will take chisel bits.

Its just for the tool drawer at the moment. The last time I tried to use the cheap one I had it nothing but tick me off. I'll be installing the lift on the *XJ before too long and know some persuasion will be needed.

(*figured installing the parts will take less room than storing them...doing a double move)

We need to anchor your 2 post lift down then, it will be so much easier to install that lift. had the same problem with the HF air chisel I bought, money down the drain.

Waiting to see if it comes with me or stays.

Is there any efficiency to be gained by upgrading my hose size if an air tool isn't getting the needed air?

My body saw won't run but a second, then goes to a "releasing air" mode like the air is passing right through. I could deal with the cycle time if I could get it to run even in short bursts as it's the only tool I'm having issue with and rarely is there a need to use it. My compressor is at the very low end of its needed supply, but seems it 'should' run. Got it second hand so have no idea if it worked b4 or if I'm not supplying it enough air. I normally just use a jigsaw but where I need to get is too small a space and the body saw would work perfectly....if it worked at all.

Try some lube. The piston is getting hung mid-stroke and letting the air bypass. Marvel Mystery oil works well.
