  • Tires???

I'm looking to put some 33s on my '01 TJ, & wanted an aggressive tire, but also one that would last a while. I was considering the BFG Mud Terrain, Goodyear MT/R, & BFG All-Terrain. Anybody have any ideas about the best treadlife & wet/dry pavement traction? I need something that will last!!!
    Thanks!!!!

A lot of people are running the BFG KM2's and are happy with them on and off road, and have indicated that they wear well.

Mine came with Cooper Discover STT's which have a similar pattern as the Toyo MTs with a pretty aggressive sidewall. They've got 15,000 on them now and hardly any signs of wear.

Not an expert opinion by any means, but they are really good in the mud and no complaints on the road wet/dry either.

we'll have gotten almost 40k out of our Mickey Thompson MTZs...wear nice, pretty aggressive and quite on the road as well. I've been very impressed. they're a little spendy, but they last a long time.

I've got over 50 customers that run them on rigs mild to wild and have yet to see a problem. Keep them rotated and they do very well.

HAHA, it's the exact opposite for us....

They do not clean out well in mud, the center section just slicks right up.

                They are loud and noisy.

They puncture and slice right across the "Kevlar" logo.

They are on 80% of the "DEATH WOBBLE" cases we see (about 5 a week).

They do not balance well, they typically have 2x and 3x the weight we see on a similar tire like a BFG or Mickey. We have seen as much as 14oz on a 33" tire.

They CHOP UP no matter how many times you rotate them.

We see about 10 sets a week and all of them are either brand new, or chopping......

Sorry, can't convince us we haven't seen all of this Brian.....

It's just an overpriced CRAPPY tire in our opinion.....

Thank you for this info! The KM2's are on a national back order (at least the 35x12.5x15). I was needing to go another route and was considering these but believe I may go with the Hankook Dynapro MT.

I have 4 almost new MTZ's on my Bronco and love them 33x12.5x15 however I am eyeballing 35's or 37's. Any interest? They are great tires. I also really like the KM2's. I use to like MTR's the old style but not a big fan of the new ones.

The BFG KM2s would be an excellent choice.
