  • Finally a real tow rig!!!

Towed the jeep all the way to hot springs with my Tahoe and from the moment i got back Ive been looking for a better solution to towing. Took me 3 days and last night i met a dude off good old craigslist last night that really wanted my tahoe (to lift 9" with 38s) and also had a truck that I really wanted.

Its a 2002 F250 7.3 auto 4x4 4 door short bed xlt. Black mb alloy wheels, full ranchhands f/r tool box and headache rack, tons of upgrades turbo, intercooler, head studs, fuel pump, programmer, straight piped, k&n, and so on. Motor is clean and tight. Least clatter I've ever heard out of a diesel and scary fast.

Only thing I dont like is the tan cloth interior, although immaculate, not my style. Looking at some king ranch seats, front add-a-leaf, and some 315/75/17s

I ended up throwing in the infiniti (he wanted it for his kid sister) and a little cash. Honestly didnt have that much in the tahoe and almost nothing in the old 99 i30! So I made out like a bandit.

I assume you have a tune for towing for it?

If you get 25 mpg with a 7.3 then that is a steal. Mine did not even get that stock or on the superchip tuner.

That's a great deal, I completely understand why you don't want to tow with a Tahoe...WB too short....it's squirrely in turns.

You really should keep that kind of stuff to yourself.

I'm going to recommend against any kind of lift and bigger tires. The only reason I had bigger tires on my tow rig was because my gearing was so stupid low. Lift makes towing worse, and bigger tires will mess up your gearing. It's a tow rig, keep it simple. Now, a better radio, heck yes!

Haha. Bait quotes. Knew you'd bite. Based on the mileage I just filled up 29 mpg. Passed a speed sign and it said 61 when the gauge said 65. By my math that's still 27 mpg. This is awesome!

27 MPH might be as fast as a Ford will get. :)

                      How many miles?
7.3 they don't make em like that anymore.
I dumped mine for a 6.0 biggest mistake of my life
