Wow big improvement over a “winter beater”. Nice Jeep.

    "Salty", are you ex Navy?

They said 2 hrs, but that was if you have already done it 10 times before, LOL.

Bumper and winch is a great start, join the club and come with us wheeling.

You are right, get rid of those leads going through the grill like that, but you don’t need to have some made, you can do it yourself and save money. Just buy the right length and do the ends yourself. We can help you if you need.

And as for write ups, we always love pics and write ups so that is just a given that we would like to see it.

    Forum Newbie...... Highland Village

Have been browsing the forum for a few months now, getting some ideas. My wife decided she wanted a Jeep, guess she was bored with her older Lexus, so we went shopping. This is the 5th Jeep we have owned although all the others fell into the catagory of a winter beater as we lived in the northeast at the time and Jeeps are great in the snow. She had seen a 4 door Arctic around and fell in love with the Winter Chill color, so the mission had commenced, problem was they made a limited number of them and the 2013's were arriving. Denton Jeep helped us locate one and it was on the way. She prefered the unlimited, I wanted the 2 door, and just as luck would have it all that was available was a 2 door, darn....... We are going to bring it to Big Bend at Christmas time and do some backroad exploring, we have never been there and what better way then in a Jeep. She had to go to Fargo North Dakota for work for a few days so here was my chance to do some modifications before the big trip. I decided on a real front bumper and a winch of some sort, who knew that there would be so many choices. I ended up going with the Warn elite front bumper and a 9500 Quadratrac winch. The instructions said about 2 hours on the bumper installation time and 1.5 for the winch, ya right!!!!!! Total time was 9 hours, but I did it the right way, torqued every bolt and used blue loctite, no sense having anything come apart. I need to get some custom battery cables made up so I can run them properly as I do not like them going through the grill. The Warn bumper is very well made, if anybody backs into it in a parking lot I expect they will be sorry that they did. If anybody is interested in what it actually takes to install this bumper let me know and I will write it up. Guess I will be adding the Warn rear bumper as soon as I can save some more $$$$.
