So, I'm TapirJK's husband, and it's all my fault.
It all started when my good friend from KC, MO told me that they were going to be out in HotSprings with Midwest Krawlers and invited me to join as I have shown interest in off-roading.. he said "wanna come in a couple months? I got a side seat open..." I told him, heck yeah! but I'm not side chick" and i promptly started a hunt for a jeep. found my self a Red '06 Rocky Mountain Edition, Inline 6, 6 speed manual TJ, got all the fluids to replace everything, fixed the off road lights wiring for the light pods, added a fuse box, added relays, added rock lights, grab handles, bikini top, 35" mud shoes, a new wench and synth rope, new clutch assembly, spare tire delete, manual throttle lever, and new body mounts. No lockers in sight! Mwahahha. then went to meet them at Hot Springs, had fun, climbed nearly everything. and got hooked even more. to tell you, these a-holes, knowing I have no lockers (yet) and is my 1st off-road trip of this caliber, they took me for my 1st run on Rubicon Ridge, then Fun Run, Snake and then everywhere else.
For our second trip, we ended up is SMORR, that is when I told my wife "hey why dont you try this 5' shelf on my friend's '18 Rubi!" my friend was like, "yeah, try it, you ain't going to hurt it it's fully metalcloacked!" 2 months later she got her '14 Unlimited Rubi...
Great to join y'all though! will see some hopefully in the upcoming Off-Road Training thing in Bridgeport OHV, will be passenger to wifey as my TJ is at my friend's in KC, gonna put a ford 8.8 with detroit lockers, and a high pinion dana 30 with eaton e-lockers, amongst other goodies.Leave a comment:
