Why does LJ rate more points than TJ? Who says longer wheelbase is always better for rockcrawling?

Why does TJ rate higher than a YJ? Where is it written as gospel that a stock TJ is better at rockcrawling than a stock YJ?

        Debate anyone?

Hatch, how about your ratings for these vehicles just for comparison?

Impossible. The whole thing (any complicated vehicle rating system) is an exercise in "Mine is Bigger Than Yours" and everyone knows it ain't what ya got, it's how you use it.

Score a 100 (max) if you can honestly say "My Jeep goes everywhere I want it to go when it leaves the pavement, and it can do it under it's own power [winch counts]."

Score a zero if your response is "My Jeep never goes off road."

My reasoning for the Detroit over the ARB because it is stronger and few Big Dogs use them for this reason... this is my understanding, I may be wrong here.
                  CLARIFICATION AND DEBATE HERE?
1 -------- I concur. When things get real serious I am gald to have 2 pedals on the floor not 3. I can push fluid a lot slower and more controlled then I can let a clutch out........

2 ------- I am one of those folks. I have had friends and aquaintances that have blown more ARB's apart than Detroits....(not to mention leaky lines etc.)

                  I came in at 1610

I came in at 1560 but couldn't find my plus or minus for the Bird Cage ;)

I'm not familiar with the benefit of a rear bird cage. Can you give a reasoning and a rating compared to the stock setup?

                        Pass/Fail

I take my Jeep off road where it needs 4WD -- PASS.

I avoid off road and 4WD like the plague -- FAIL.

There could be a detriment in some peoples eyes. I can only fill 2 seats ?
