Where can I go in the Dallas area?

Hi, I'm restoring my 98 cherokee XJ, and looking for a place within a couple hours or so where we can do some tent camping (that has water and electric), and take the Jeep on some light trail riding and such, maybe trek through some fields. Anyone know of any?

Barnwell recreation are in Gilmer, Texas. 2 hours east of Dallas and just north of Longview. Has camping areas and restrooms. I suggest not off-roading alone.

What about Eisenhower in Dennison?

LBJ National Grasslands by Decatur would be good too

I've actually been camping out there before; do they have some trails and such there?

LBJ doesn't have power/water, though, do they?

It's been updated and I think some areas do. As for trails there aren't any but the park roads are kind of interesting. Recommend going by the headquarters and buying a map. There are some hidden small lakes that are cool.
